The
staff at the Centre have been very busy this year, and it’s
only March! Firstly, welcome to Cindy, our new Clinical Nurse
Manager. Cindy has taken over from Lisa, who moved to Cairns
in January with her partner. We believe that they survived the
recent cyclone Larry, but were very despondent with the
difficulties of no power for seven days as well as the damage
done locally. However, we wish them well in settling in to
their new life. We would also like to welcome Dr Sigal
Jacobson, a
specialist in Zoom Tooth Whitening procedures as a cosmetic
dentist who recently joined our Melbourne team.
Please address all enquires for Zoom Tooth Whitening to our
Reception who would be happy to give you the latest
information.
We also welcome Julia Grinberg who has now commenced Intense
Pulsed Light Treatments (IPL), particularly for hair removal
procedures. Julia will be available at our Centre in Melbourne
at very convenient times and her expertise, pleasant
disposition
and professionalism will be much appreciated.
Please call Reception on 9576-2000 for further information or
to book an informative consultation with Julia.
Our Director of Nursing, Jennifer, has just returned from
Belgium where she spent time getting acquainted with her new
granddaughter Charlotte. Antony, our business
manager, is learning the meaning of sleepless nights with new
baby Oliver who was born at the end of January.
Laura, our receptionist in Melbourne, married her beau Tony in
February. They had a wonderful honeymoon in Hawaii.
Our Chief of Surgery, Professor Gerard Sormann, recently spent
several weeks in the United States where he investigated new
advances in surgical techniques and had some time for a bit of
well-earned R&R.

If
you are considering booking surgery, there is no time like the
present. By booking a surgery date in winter you can complete
your pre-op preparation and have plenty of time for recovery
during the cold winter months.
That way you will be fit and ready to take on spring and all
the social activities it brings.
Call our office to arrange a no-cost consultation with our
Medical Director, Dr Mervyn Cass, to discuss your surgery
options.

Cold weather, indoor heating and fluctuations in temperature
all take their toll. Your skin may appear dull and lifeless. A
course of facial peels could be just the thing to restore
freshness and vitality to tired skin.
The Centre offers lactic acid facial peels and a range of skin
products not available at chemists or beauty salons. Lactic
acid peels are ideal for treating small skin blemishes,
fine-line wrinkles and small scars. Each treatment only takes
about half an hour at the Centre and you can return to work or
your normal daily activities immediately after.
Contact the Centre and book a no-obligation skin consultation.

Bohemian, romantic – that’s the look this autumn. Skirts -
minis are a must - teamed with tops and blouses with plenty of
embroidery, lace and ruffles. Chunky, ethnic-inspired
jewellery and boots, long, ankle or ruched. Denim, leather and
shades of pink, teamed with black, white or shades of rustic
brown.

Margy Paddington is the ‘wrinkles expert’ at our Melbourne
rooms. Margy completed her general nurse training at the
Alfred Hospital. After four years in medical/surgical nursing
she moved into cosmetic/reconstructive surgery where she
worked for twelve years.
Following this, Margy began working in private practice,
initially caring for patients undergoing cosmetic surgery. She
then specialised in ‘injectibles’ – primarily Collagen,
Restylane and Botox. Margy underwent highly-specialised
training in this field and keeps her skills and knowledge up
to date.
Margy is well-qualified and experienced in treatments for
wrinkle
prevention and reduction, including all the latest products,
techniques and procedures. Contact the Centre to book a
consultation with Margy if you want to find out more.

There is no need to be shy about discoloured teeth any more.
We are very excited to introduce tooth whitening services at
our
Melbourne rooms. So you can show your pearly whites with
pride.
Dr Sigal Jacobson will be available each week to perform tooth
whitening. The procedure takes approximately one hour and the
results are noticeable immediately. You can return to work, or
normal activities, immediately after.
We also are thrilled to have a range of new Intense Pulsed
Light
Treatments (IPL) now available for permanent hair reduction
and
other skin enhancement treatments.

In
each edition of Makeover Magic, we will answer some commonly
asked questions…
Breast Enhancement surgery should not restrict your normal
lifestyle in any way.
Can I lie on my breast implants?
Yes. Initially sleeping will be a little difficult.
Immediately after surgery you will need to sleep with your
head and shoulders elevated for a few days. After this, you
may find
sleeping on your side more comfortable. However, once you are
fully recovered from your surgery, there is no reason you
can’t sleep on your tummy, or lie in whatever position is most
comfortable for you.
Can I play sport after Breast Enhancement surgery?
You will also be able to return to whatever physical
activities you normally undertake, such as playing sport or
going to the gym, once you are fully recovered.
Can I fly with breast implants?
There is no basis to the myth that breast implants swell or
even explode when flying. The changes of pressure in an
aircraft do not cause any noticeable changes to breast
implants.
